Second Session

Sub communities
Different sites and different spaces make different communities; these communities are called sub communities. Every person can choose their own friends and their own collection of groups, for example one can have different sites for different kind of friends, like I can have a site for my friends from work and another for those from University and even family since I don’t want to mix family and friends, but my family are all overseas and communicating with them over these sites makes a lot of sense to me.

Recent and previous views about youth to be unsecure and unstable but the question remains to answer itself is; are youth unstable? Or does their behaviour reflect the amount of energy that they have in that stage of life. It is however imminent to notice that youth rather act more wild and do things that they regret doing when they are older, at the same time youth are the backbone of the future and they do contribute to the society as much as society contributes to them. Subsequently, youth from different societies and communities and even sub communities act rather different even the radicalisation of behaviour differs.
Things that can make impact on youth behaviour is firstly the fact that they don’t have a complete understanding of life, therefore they can get affected by those that they see as idles or examples of people that they like and would like to follow. Youth identities are perhaps unstable and disconnected due to all the choices they have

Youth are seen to be unsecure
Things that make youth more unsecure.
• People are picking different music and different personalities and pick and mix all of these things.
• Music and style define their behaviour and gives them more of a rule for people in their own identity
• The use of media and technology gives us more and more options to control our life such as TV channels and one can make their own channels and even you tube site which gives one the opportunity to pick and set their own personal characteristic materials
• Games and marketers which are trying to target people or individuals, they see what someone has bought in the pass and then through their interest they market products to that person.

Personal space could facilitate the different spaces that have been covered above.
The bedroom in ones life is very important in ones identity, therefore we tend to update and redecorate the bedroom with pictures of friends, and it’s central base point of someone’s identity. It also acts as every day personal space as the individual has control on who can come in it and who can’t, and also the use of the internet and mobile phone in the bedroom. The social networking sites as personal space or private space in similar way to the bedroom.

Mapping of personal identity
In the case of the discussion group sites can be like given a room to someone to have as much control on who to see what and read what, you may accept someone to come in or just keep them out

Everyday Interactions
it's like sitting together because you can chat to each other and discuss matters to gather and see ones comments and some ideologies. a news page create the sociability in the website to be more social since it updates you about others sites and if they have changed what and even what they are feeling at sometimes

Personal Network

Integration of complex identities
The personal element of face book brings together the different people from different worlds like friends and work world and your previous life that you don't want to mix with your current life as such sometimes.

Privacy
It is the ability of group and/or individual to seclude themselves or information about themselves selectively.

Blogs
I do have friends on the internet that I have never meat in real life even though they say that they live in my area and some live overseas else where. These people are different from those that I know and meat in real life, they do talk to me and I talk to them but that happens very rear and very limited information are passed between us. However the same people sometimes talk to me as if we know each other for years and we talk all night sometimes, perhaps they are happy to talk to me about things that personal since I am a complete stranger and they somehow know me at the same time. Where my friends talk to me all the time but sometimes they still limit their conversation when comparing my conversation to this stranger that I know and lives elsewhere.

I have been using these different communication technologies as far as I can remember, but not the internet. I started using the internet in the late 90’s about 1998, where I used to call different people overseas using the internet, but in 2001 I started using msn and yahoo messenger and then followed by hi5 and face book.

These technologies influenced me in much different way, most importantly I found old friends that I haven’t seen in years and they found me through other friends. Further More I can communicate to my family and friends overseas every day without them even having to be there on line.

However I do think that privacy is an issue when using these technologies for example people add you on face book when you don’t really like to add them such as friends and family. I have two different facebook accounts to be used by two different types of people one of them to be seen by family and friends of family and another to be used by friends only.
